Tip and Tricks on how to change a Diaper

So the baby shower is done with and the baby shower favors were a hit. You have gotten more baby gift baskets than you know what to do with and now you think the fun starts and now you you think changing a diaper is no brain surgery! Well…it sure can drive a new parent crazy in those first couple of weeks when all the visitors have stopped coming over with their baby gifts and you are all alone with a new infant. So here are some tricks and tips on how to stay sane for new moms and dads:

1 Always place a clean diaper underneath your baby’s tush BEFORE you take off the used diaper. This is crucial as babies have a tendency to do their business on the changing table!

2. Make sure that you move the dirty diaper far enough away from your baby’s hands and feet so you avoid having to clean them as well.

3. If you have a boy, make sure you cover him up with a cloth or paper towel while you are cleaning up the poop to avoid getting squirted on.. Also, make sure you tuck his penis in the downward position when you secure the new diaper so you avoid leaks later on.

4. If you have a girl, remember to wipe from front to back to keep the germs away and avoid any unnecessary infections.

5. And finally, make sure the elastic band on your diapers is outside the diaper to create a leak-proof seal.
